My favorite uncle was a police officer as far back as I can remember.
My husband is a Vietnam vet. And we have friends who are fire fighters and EMTs.
Years ago, I saw that so many of them were not getting the respect due these heroes. Then we began losing several police officers in the area. One day we were having breakfast in Eddie's Sunrise Diner and I saw a LEO sitting alone and looking sad. I went over to him and told him thank you for all they do for us and that he is greatly appreciated. When things get rough, remember that you are being prayed for. He teared up and gave me his card and wrote his personal cell number. He said, "If you ever need help, feel free to call me.
That was on Jan. 28, 2011.
That is how it started.
I had cards made and since then I have been giving them out.
I have been giving out these cards to LEOs, Firefighters, EMTs and Military since 2011. I give them out every time I see these heroes wherenever it is convenient for them to be approached. So for all of you that I can't meet face to face, this card is for all of you. Thank you for all you do for us. You are deeply appreciated.
